Meetings
Meetings are held on the third Monday evening of each month (except when it falls on a holiday)
Meetings are for CFUW Edmonton members, however guests of members are welcome to attend. If you would like to attend as a guest and do not know a CFUW Edmonton member, email president@cfuwedmonton.org to to be invited as a guest of the president.
Location: In-person and on Zoom. Community Room at the Riverbend United Church, 14907 45th Ave NW. Click here to get directions. Free parking at the church. Our meetings are also on Zoom.
Time: Meeting starts at 11:30am (except otherwise listed below) but everyone is welcome to come early and socialize.
Refreshments: Coffee, tea, and water is provided. Attendees can bring a sack lunch.
Agenda: Most meetings we have a speaker during the first half of the meeting. The second half of the meeting is the business meeting where the executive give updates on current and upcoming activities and discussions take place. December and May we have Social Meetings (no business is conducted). March we discuss the Resolutions that will be voted on at the CFUW national Annual General Meeting in June. April is the club Annual General Meeting (members only).
Meeting Schedule
September 18, 2023
Our 1st meeting of the 2023-2024 year will start at 12:30pm. Our new president, Vicky Grabb, will be talking to everyone (members, guests, prospective members) about CFUW activities over the summer, and the upcoming activities for CFUW Edmonton for 2023-2024. This is the meeting members sign up for our various Interest Groups (click here for Interest Group details).
October 23, 2023
A speaker, Dr Anne Hall, will give a presentation about Canadian Women's Sports History. This will be followed by a club business meeting.
November 20, 2023
A speaker, Elizabeth Onyango, will give a presentation on Food Insecurity - immigrants' needs for familiar food. This will be followed by a club business meeting.
December 4, 2023 Holiday Social!
We gather for entertainment and celebration of the holiday season.
January 15, 2024
Presentations by our graduate scholarship winners followed by the CFUW Academic Awards Fund Annual General Meeting.
February 12, 2024
A speaker, Peggy Garritty, will give a presentation Reflections of the Chancellor of the University of Alberta. This will be followed by a club business meeting.
March 18, 2024
This meeting is for discussion of the CFUW national resolutions. This will be followed by a club business meeting.
