Tammy Irwin was an esteemed, influential and loved member of CFUW Edmonton as well as a past president of the organization, locally (1972 – 74) and nationally. She was a consummate volunteer whose efforts included aspects of Indigenous issues, literacy, environment, wildlife, and health.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Be a woman, born in Canada, who is of Aboriginal descent under the Constitution Act, 1982, Sections 35(2) or a person accepted by one of the Aboriginal peoples of Canada as a member of their community.
Is attending the University of Alberta, registered full-time as an undergraduate student in a degree program in both the Fall and Winter terms in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Is registered in the third or fourth year of her degree program.
Has received grades for courses taken, as confirmed by the official University of Alberta transcript, with a minimum University of Alberta GPA of 3.5 for Fall Term 2024.
This award can be won by one student once only.

This letter must clearly explain your academic goals in 2 pages or less, single spaced, Calibri font, size 11.
Letters will be judged on your explanation of what you are studying and why.
It must state, in the following order:
a. Your reasons for undertaking your studies.
b. A description of your program and why you chose it.
c. Your professional and personal goals on completion of your degree.

a. Summarize your work experience, most recent first, both related and unrelated to your academic field. List T.A. and /or R.A. employment separately, if applicable.
b. If applicable, list your work that has been published or accepted for publication. Artists, actors, directors, and musicians are to list gallery exhibitions, performances, roles or productions, compositions, etc. starred (*) if juried. Designate performance participation as major or minor. List non-refereed exhibitions and performances at the end.
c. List your volunteer activities for the last three years.
d. List your activities demonstrating your support for:
CFUW values: improving the status of women through the pursuit of knowledge, promotion of education and human rights, and active participation in public / community affairs in a spirit of cooperation and friendship.
