Meetings
Meetings are held on the third Monday evening of each month (except when it falls on a holiday)
Meetings are for CFUW Edmonton members, however guests of members are welcome to attend. If you would like to attend as a guest and do not know a CFUW Edmonton member, email president@cfuwedmonton.org to to be invited as a guest of the president.
Location: In-person and on Zoom. Community Room at the Riverbend United Church, 14907 45th Ave NW. Click here to get directions. Free parking at the church. Our meetings are also on Zoom.
Time: Meeting starts at 11:30am (except otherwise listed below) but everyone is welcome to come early and socialize.
Refreshments: Coffee, tea, and water is provided. Attendees can bring a sack lunch.
Agenda: Most meetings we have a speaker during the first half of the meeting. The second half of the meeting is the business meeting where the executive give updates on current and upcoming activities and discussions take place. December and May we have Social Meetings (no business is conducted). March we discuss the Resolutions that will be voted on at the CFUW national Annual General Meeting in June. April is the club Annual General Meeting (members only).

September 16, 2024
Our 1st meeting of the 2024-2025 year. Our new president, Vicky Grabb, will be talking to everyone (members, guests, prospective members) about CFUW activities over the summer, and the upcoming activities for CFUW Edmonton for 2024-2025. This is the meeting members sign up for our various Interest Groups (click here for Interest Group details).
October 21, 2024
A speaker, Liz John-West, Executive Director of CEASE and co-chair of Kisewatisiwin), will give a presentation about her work with CEASE and Kisewatisiwin. CEASE (Centre to Empower all Survivors of Exploitation and Trafficking) A community where there is hope, respect + transformation for individuals, families + communities impacted by sexual exploitation, sex trafficking + social inequality. www.ceasenow.org. Kisewatisiwin is a collaborative project between the Alberta Avenue Community League and the City of Edmonton as a tribute to Missing and Murdered Exploited Indigenous People. (MMEIP)
This will be followed by a club business meeting.

A speaker, Julia Gibbs-Davis, Associate Professor within the Faculty of Science-Chemistry at the University of Alberta (and with the Nanotechnology Research Centre), will give a presentation mainly on the biological applications of nanotechnology and can reference other applications of this amazingly broad field of science.
This will be followed by a club business meeting.
December 9, 2024 Holiday Social!
We gather for entertainment and celebration of the holiday season.
January 20, 2025
Presentations by our graduate scholarship winners followed by the CFUW Academic Awards Fund Annual General Meeting.
February 24, 2025
A speaker, Stephanie Weizenbach, Executive Director of Nature Alberta, will give a presentation on her work with Nature Alberta. Nature Alberta is a community connected by the love of Nature, representing a network of many natural history organizations and individuals throughout the province. Check out their Family Nature Nights and other programs at naturealberta.ca/birding-for-nature
