CFUW Edmonton and Strathcona County clubs
Scholarship for an Undergraduate Aboriginal Woman

In 2019, the CFUW Alberta Council gave $2000 to each of the three universities in Alberta to award to an Aboriginal woman student. CFUW Edmonton and CFUW Strathcona County decided to award the scholarship for the University of Alberta through the CFUW Edmonton AAF scholarship program. Subsequently, an Alberta member decided to fund 5 more years of this scholarship at $2000 per year. Since 2020, the two clubs have cooperated each year to award the scholarship to an undergraduate Aboriginal women at the University of Alberta. The funding from the anonymous donor will end after the 2024 academic year. Members from each of the Edmonton and Strathcona County clubs read the applications.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION 2024
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (for 2024 application period)
Be a woman, born in Canada, who is of Aboriginal descent under the Constitution Act, 1982, Sections 35(2) or a person accepted by one of the Aboriginal peoples of Canada as a member of their community.
Is attending the University of Alberta, registered full-time as an undergraduate student in a degree program in both the Fall and Winter terms in the 2023-24 academic year.
Is registered in the third or fourth year of her first undergraduate degree program.
Has received grades for all courses taken, as confirmed by the official University of Alberta transcript, with a minimum University of Alberta GPA of 3.3 for Fall Term 2023.
This award can be won by one student once only.
